Sylvain Sirois

Previous AFS participant in 1998-1999 in Saint Lucie, Sylvain volunteered with AFS Interculture Canada at the end of his college studies in radiotherapy at the end of 2003. Initially, his involvement was in training young from Quebec to prepare them for the intercultural experience they are about to live. One thing leading to another, he played the role of mentor, evaluation of future host families and young students and welcomed 3 young people into his family. Since 2015, he has sat on the Board of Directors of AFS Interculture Canada and this year decided to get involved as Vice-President.

François Le May

François Le May is a dynamic, bilingual manager and professional accountant with nearly 30 years of diversified experience in administration, finance and accounting in the areas of charity management, training and professional services. He currently works for an architectural firm in Montreal as Director of Administration and Human Resources. Previously, he worked for over 10 years in charitable organizations as Director of Administration where he was responsible for reporting to regulatory agencies.

Anisara Creary

Graduated in communication psycho-sociology and multi-ethnic intervention, Anisara is a previous AFS participant. She has also had the experience of welcoming AFS participants within her house and has given her children a taste for exchange on several occasions. She has been working in the AFS Canada office as National Director since February 1997.

Stéphanie Dubé-Desrosiers

Stéphanie Dubé-Desrosiers is a lawyer in a law firm in the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region where she practices primarily in business law. Former participant of a year program in Australia, Stéphanie is actively involved in the AFS organization. His experience has been his gateway to the international arena, which has led her to participate in numerous international projects, study abroad sessions and to work for several years on a project to support training in natural resource management in the Congo Basin led by Université Laval.

Sylvain Berthiaume

Sylvain Berthiaume has a master’s degree in economics from the Université de Sherbrooke and has worked in the field of economic development since 1994. In 2006, he was appointed Director General of the MRC de Marguerite-D’Youville. For several years, Sylvain has been involved in the implementation of major projects on the RCM’s territory, namely the regional logistics hub, near the future Port of Montreal facilities in Contrecœur and the Société d’économie mixte de l’est de la Couronne Sud (SÉMECS).

Valérie-Kim Besner

Valérie-Kim Besner is currently Change Management administrator for Eastern Canada at Canada Post. She has over 20 years of experience in team mobilization, internal/external communications and change management. His professional background has been put to use in various advertising agencies and public and private companies.

She also sits on the board of directors of the Joseph-François-Perrault School Foundation, which provides financial support for the renowned music program.

Yanik Doyon

Yanik is a sales and marketing professional with over 12 years experience in 7 countries.

He currently manages multi-million dollar accounts in the aerospace industry for Thales Canada Avionics. He is responsible for strategic negotiations with key clients and provides leadership on marketing initiatives, forecasts and customer relations.

Yanik has a MBA from Hult International Business School in Shanghai, China and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Previous AFS participant, Yanik has been involved with AFS since 2000. He also acted as an advisor to the participants on two occasions. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2014.

Jean-François Mongeau

Jean-François has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2016. A financial advisor by training, he is director of North American retirement programs for a multinational manufacturing company. Passionate about education and financial security, he does not hesitate to get involved in causes that are close to his heart.
