Introducing AFS into your school

Teachers can encourage participation in exchange programs in many ways:

  • Host AFS students in your school for a year or semester.
  • Organize information sessions for students interested in going abroad. We are eager to work with you. For further details, please contact Stéphanie
  • If your school is already hosting a student, find opportunities for that student to make presentations about his/her own culture to classes and to community groups.
  • Help students complete national or local educational requirements before they leave so that these concerns do not interfere with their year or semester abroad.
  • Short-term class exchanges are available in several countries. Contact AFS Interculture Canada to get further details.
  • Talk to other teachers about the benefits of intercultural learning.
